Group and Individual Poems
Guests at your wine event feel that they are co-creators of your event with a poem created especially for them.
January 2023
For groups:
At the beginning of your event, I circle among guests and ask them to write a 3-5 word phrase describing the things that they see, smell, hear, taste and touch at your wine event.
I take the cards and sit down at my typewriter or laptop and create a poem in celebration of your event.
Near the close of your event, I will read the poem aloud to everyone. Guests will be listening for their phrases and lines and feel that they have had a hand in the festivities.
Everyone receives a copy of the poem that they helped to create.For individuals:
I conduct personal interviews with guests and gather individual narratives about family, friends or loved ones. The interview concludes with a poem typed and given to the individual. Poems of gratitude to the recipient combine feelings of love, kindness, honor, and pride for the guest's loved one.
Guests can read their poems aloud to the group at your event, while the loved one listens and feels honored and acknowledged.
Guests receive a copy of the poem printed on fine bond paper to give as a gift to their loved one.
A variation on reading: I can read the poems anonymously, and the face of the recipient brightens with delight when the recipient realizes that the poem is written in their honor.
I am available to visit your Napa or Sonoma wine event in person. Both the group and the individual poetry process can be created in real time at your event via Zoom.
For Zoom events: set up a laptop on a table nearby and direct your guests to sit down with me for a few minutes. I email or text the poem to you for reading to the group.
